Interesting Observation- has anyone else seen this?

I have about 7000 odd miles on the beast at this point and have loved driving every one of those miles.

Recently, I have noticed a change (a positive one I think)- back when I first bought the truck, hitting the gas pedal would almost immediately result in a decrease in the current MPGs shown on the dash. So in response to the decreased MPGs, when I drove with a light foot, it used to take quite some time before the MPGs went back up again.

However, more recently I have found that even if the MPGs go down when I hit the gas too hard, it does not take much for the MPGs to go back up- definitely not as long as it used to. I drive with a light foot for a minute or so and the MPGs start going back up again.

Has anyone else noticed this change?

How often do you reset the MPGs? I do mine every fill up and it definitely responds more, earlier in the tankful. I would think the longer you go between resets, the slower it will respond.

Yea the reading kinda settles down after a while and doesn't fluctuate as much. I usually reset mine every other fill up. It helps me be more conscience about how I drive

I usually reset mine at each fill up and also if I am going to change primarily from highway driving to city driving.

How do you reset the AVG MPG reading...at work so I don't have the manual in front of me, so please don't crucify me.

Thanks!

when you in average MPG mode press and hold the display change button on dashboard and it will reset the average fuel consumption.

that's math at work...as u get more results, the data becomes more centralized, resulting in a more stabilized number... :)

is that all that means?

Is that all that means? I thought that it meant that the beast's behavior was improving! :)
