Interior convenience stuff.- questions

The "drawer" in front of hte shifter and coffee holders seems to be a poor design. Anyone do any mods to improve? Also, I would like to either install vanity lights next to the visor mirror or buy new visors and wire the lights in. Any idea where I can get them or what to do.

I've read numerous complaints on this forum about both the cup holders and the tilt-open cubby and I'm not sure what all the fuss is about.

I think the cup holders are great. You do realize they are adjustable to fit different size cups, don't you? And you can remove the divider entirely to give you a single large storage bin if you prefer.

The tilt-open bin is a bit flimsy in my opinion, but I think it's a great place to keep my tokens for tolls, pens, gym access card, and some other small items that would just get lost in the big storage area under the armrest.

The flip out cubby in front of the cup holders is what it is, there's no more room behind it to do anything else (had my dash out to install my Sirius and saw the area first hand). At least Toyota made it a hiding space for something.

The cup holders are fine. As mentioned, you do know that you can adjust the sizes of the holders to fit anything from energy drink cans (smaller ones) all the way up to those mongo 32oz cups from fast food joints, right? The little lights in them make them a breeze to spot at night too.

As for the vanity lights near the visors...I am confused. You have mirrors in the vanities that are not lit? Must be a trim level option, I have lighted vanity mirrors in each visor - and thought all T4Rs did. Replacing them with Toyota-prewired and lighted visors is surely possible, but sounds expensive. There may be some aftermarket options out there if you look around.

Something like this:

I think that one runs off batteries.

This is funny because we owned our T4R for 3 whole years before I realized the cup holders adjusted. I was actually cleaning it out to possibly trade for a new Sequoia when I came across the "quick info" sheet in the glove box. I used to think they suck, but now I like them.

cup holders are fine, yes I realize they are adjustable. tilt out cubby is crap IMHO. going to replace with a net, or anything else. The visor is the biggest ******. 2005 sr5 has no lights...driving me nuts. Thanks for the link.
