Interior Lighting Converted to LED (Many PICS)

No problem man, I mean you could go with a smaller dome light, but I don't think you'd be very pleased at all. I had a small 9-LED one in my 02 4Runner and it wasn't bright at all, upgraded to the oznium and I was like WOW!sant6236 said:
Dude, you will love them. But the only problem is there's to much wiring, so what I did is pull the wiring out of the dome light(and got rid of it), and found the base that fit correctly and cut the connector off, then soldered it onto the dome light!HB 4X4 said:Brian,
I just ordered 2 dome lights from Oznium. I got blue, since my interior is already blue and I'm just looking for more light output. $69.XX after tax and shipping. They better be worth it or I am coming after you.
I just installed my interior lights. Look good so far, can't wait to see what they are like at night.
For the dome lights, I snaked the wire from the LED panel up though the fixture over to to where they bulb mounts, then plugged the base in and pushed the wire up into the roof. So there is only a little bit of wire exposed.
I also though of running the wire in back of the panel but that bowed the pane so not much sticky tape was holding it down and it didn't seem secure. I might try to revisit this as you can still see a bit of wire under the lens.
The other lights went in easy enough, I didn't realize there was a real reflector in the map lights or else I would of got the bulbs with LEDs around the sides. Will see how the ones I got do before I think about ordering something different. These are supposed to be 60 lumens, compared to the 25 of the stock bulbs. And the license plate bulbs only said they were 15.
Of course I cracked one of the door light lenses, but you can't see it anyway. Oh and I never realized that only the door thats open lights up, I though they all lit up when any door was open like the dome lights.
I also discovered my ignition switch light isn't working so another thing to replace.

For the map lights I use a tiny jewelers screw driver and carefully pryed up on on corner where you press then pryed up the pivot end. Then when both of those were free I carefully pryed up the center at the side where you press and just worked slowly into the corner. Once the corner was free you could just pull it out.
To put it back in slide the pivot side in to place and gently press the other side in carefully.
Just make sure to check the bulbs work before putting the lenses back on.
As for the door light, I just used the same tiny screwdriver and pryed on the lenses at the little tabs where they hook on to the base (you can see them on the edge of the lens. Sometimes the lens would come off and somtimes the whole base would come out and then you could just pull off the lens easy by hand.
I cracked the lens when I was trying to reinsert the base and lens in all at once. I pressed on the center to hard and put a crack in the middle. So after that if the base came out, I put that back in first and then popped the lens on after it was in the door.
WOW! the LEDs make a huge difference.
the Ozniums are like daylight in the cab. I actually turned off my cargo light because the dome light itself is almost as bright as both lights before. The photos in this thread don't do them justice. The interior of the cab really lights up now.
For the Ozniums I got the "cool white" which are rated at 6500k. I did that because the map lights I bought were also 6500k lights. In the cab they are pretty white, not real blue hue to them at all. Looking through the factory tinted glass they look a little blue when lighting up the grey interior.
For the map lights I got these:

And man do they light up the front seats when on.

Overall I think it was a worthwhile investment.

Hey all, finished most of mine. I have yet to do the vanity and glove box ones. The vanity as I am lazy and it was cold when I was replacing them. The glove box as I have a problem with the wiring in my glove box, the light hasn't worked for about 2 years so I have to trace out that issue (the hardness doesn't get power and yes the fuse...#43 is good). I went looking for the problem with the glove box today but got side tracked when I realized I had the dash completely apart and I could do some tidying up to get rid of some annoying rattles - that side tracked me for about 4 hours and ended my day.

Ahh, that must be it. I've got a bunch of light around here and when I tried to take pictures they looked dimmer and bluer then in real life.
