Intermittent clunk after CV axle install

So i installed a new CV axle i got off rockauto. the Empire new CV. Since doing so, every so often, only during a turn and/or bump i hear a clunk. Doesnt happen often, sometimes only once during my drive.

Any ideas?? Ive double check all bolts and nuts and everything is tight.

Did you Check the CV axle nut? Wonder if it is the correct length.

Pretty sure i did. I held is straight as my buddy pounded away on the end with a dead blow.

So oddly enough yesterday morning was a really loud clunk, and nothing since. What ever it was maybe its fine now...

Yup rechecked and made sure i had it mad torqued down.

You could have damaged the joint when hitting it on the end with a hammer. My brother can attest to such.

yeah when ive done mine, I always used the stock pry bar and put that on the lip of the part closest to the diff on the axle. probably what happened is it snapped all the way in finally.
