Intermittent door lock "chirp"

Lately my remote locks the doors but only gets the "chirp" sometimes. This bugs me. I want to hear that chirp each time I lock my doors to be reassured that they are indeed locked. Any ideas?

Having the same problem. What I found is my right rear door isn't really locking. It locks the other doors. I think when it doesn't chirp, it's a warning that not all is locked. When mine acts up, it won't lock/unlock using the button on the door either.

So, the point is it is a bad door lock actuator.

First off, thanks for responding to my old, dusty, lonely post. I will have to see if that is the case with my truck. Maybe the locks need a little wd-40? Not good if I'm walking away thinking the truck is locked and one door isn't.
I'll post up after I check this out.

It took me awhile to get back to this post, but I tried to open the doors after I hit the lock button. All the doors and the liftgate were locked although I did not get the lock chirp. It is a mystery. Sometimes it locks with the chirp, sometimes no chirp, but at least the doors are locking all the time.

The lack of a chirp usually means one of the lock solenoids did NOT pull in all the way.
I trust the lack of a chirp. It has saved me in the past.

On several occassions when I did not get a chirp, I checked all doors and confirmed that they were locked.

That's good news, each solenoid has a separate confirm wire back to the mother box.

Next step is to examine the piezo chirper/wire to it. Inside fender well, driver side.
