Interstate Battery

Checking to see if any of you guys are using Interstate batteries…mainly the Mega-Tron Plus with the 650 cold cranking amps/6-year performance warranty/30-month free replacement?

Interstate is running a $20 rebate and this battery would be $99 after the rebate. Any other batteries you could recommend that are better priced/performance than this? Thanks!

I had to get a new battery a couple weeks ago. Looked at Interstate, but didn't know they had a rebate offer so I went with this one from Advance.
640 CCA, 36 month free replacement. Found a $50 off $125 coupon, and after the core charge refund it cost me right at $90. Never had one, but always heard good things about the Interstate brand. No complaints about the Autocraft so far, but obviously I haven't had it very long.

It's a good battery. It will serve you well. I run diehards Plat in both my 4runners though.

ive run MTP 24F for about 6 years. They last forever and alway preform.

I have my truck in hot weather and cold wealther in the winter. lights, sound system, everything keeps going. this batt puts out like my EX girlfriend. haha :girl:

If you have a Costco membership, check out their batteries... which are Interstate. They used to be sold under the Kirkland brand and many speculated that they were simply re-branded Interstates. Maybe a year ago or so they all carry the Interstate name.

I bought one a few months back for my 4Runner and I think it has 700cca. Great Costco warranty and no hassles!

It's the only brand I buy.

The MegaTron plus 's are in my cummins (2 MTP-27's), the Chevelle, two 04 Jeep grand Cherokees, and a CJ7. When the crappy Napa in my Saturn takes a dump it's getting a MTP. Same with the Exide in the 4Runner. When it goes it's getting a MTP also. Thinking about trying to fit a group 65 in place of the Toy's group 24f.

Deka Penn has not failed in 6+ years. Still holds a great charge but I replaced it in December as I thought it was time.

For batteries I've always used Walmart. They have an amazing warranty program that allows you to go in and replace your battery for free when it dies if it gives up before the listed time frame. I've exchanged 4 batteries there without having to pay anything more than the original battery cost.

I worked as an auto center technician for a couple of years during college. Pretty much every day, I tested and replaced from 5 to 20 batteries. Interstate, by far, outperformed all others regarding longevity. I remember replacing one interstate battery that was 11 years old. Most batteries last about 2-3 years. I have an interstate in my 4runner now.

Interstate makes the best Lead-Acid batteries, hands down, we have multiple Megatrons that are 10+ years old and sit around A LOT and they'll still hold a solid charge and start a vehicle when needed.

Very good price. My neighbor got one for his 2wd 4runner (actually it is his for his son) with the 800 CCAs. Buy it.

Interstate, Costco's Kirkland, Walmart Everstart MAXX, Autozone Duralast, and a bunch of others, are all made by JCI (Johnson Controls, Inc).

I used to sell Interstate batteries back in the early 80s when I ran a farm and home outlet, and at that time they were supplied to us and stored dry, where we filled them with acid and charged them for the customer. I have been sold on their quality ever since tha time. I have Interstate batteries in all of my vehicles, with exception of my T4R, due to purchasing it within the last year's time. I invaribly get more than the designed use time out of an Interstate battery without any issue. ( Example: 7 years use on a 5 year battery. )

I got one of those from wallymart for $75, 36 month free replacement, went in at 33 months, tested, voltage slightly low, got another free one, will take it back when its 33 months old too and on and on....

Definately a good price. I paid close to $130 for my Interstate Mega Tron battery. It has been great so far.

X2 for Costco. They are still Kirkland up here in Canada.
$80.00 CDN I think? Kirkland batteries are rated very high in the marketplace. I think they are made by Johnson Controls last time I checked.
I'll never by a battery anywhere else now. $80.00 vs $140.00 at the closest competition.

yep, I have experienced the same.

seems like a hassle. just get a good Interstate, and not have to even think about a battery for 5-6 years...

If you despise Wally Mart as much as I do, then you would definitely have an Interstate. I look at things, like "Do I really have time to screw with a place like that, taking my batteries back all of the time". Simple answer "NO".

Oh just to clear the air---My wife worked for WallyMart and after their efforts to make her miserable, thus making me miserable, it left a definite bad taste in my palate dealing with their management bull. Big business does not make it Great business.

I used Interstate MegaTron's in both of my Maxima's. No complaints!
