intresting situation

well i have 97 limited and recently i went to tow my boat and I realized that when I turn on the running lights or the headlights on my truck, the trailer lights go off. when the lights on the truck are off everything works running lights, turn signals, brakes. i have checked the wiring and everyhing looks good any suggestions on whats going on?

Make sure you have a good ground from the truck to the trailer wiring. I had a very similar problem and re-grounding the ground wire fixed it with very little work.

well the good news is i re grounded everything with fresh grounds. checked the wires for breaks found none, but it seems everytime i try something it changes the problem somewhat. i hate lighting
