Intro and quick question

Hi ladies and gentlemen -

I've been lurking here for a couple of months since I picked-up my 2010 BP SR5. Lots of good info in these threads. I've already switched my horn for a more powerful one, and in the near future I'll be installing a new shifter knob and a Baja Rack (assuming it'll fit in the garage!). So, thanks for that.

I've had Toyota Tacomas since I started driving (last one was an 05 TRD I traded-in for the 4Runner), and I've never come across this thing in any of my other Toyotas:

I put pens and pencils in mine, but I think it might be longer in the limited since it doesn't have the 4wd manual shifter. Otherwise it is not really good for anything else as far as I can see...would rather it be a deeper cubby, maybe for change...right now I am putting my change in the front cup holder, and that is nice unless I get too much in there and can't use it for cups.

I used to throw my chapstick in there but during the summer it melted from the sun beating down on it through the sunroof and made a mess...now it just keeps change

Gotcha. I've got a change hopper in my center console, so I'm shoving my quarters in that. Definitely seems like they should have made it deeper so it could be of some use for those of us with the manual shifter!

There was a thread about this several months ago. General consus is 1) chapstick, 2) change other than quarters, 3) useless.
