Intro- I just bought a 4runner

Just wanted to say hello.

I purchased a 2008 V8 4x4 titanium silver sport. I pay for it and pick it up Thursday. (T-minus 2 days).

It has the sunroof, JBL 10 speaker system, and double decker storage. I got them to throw in the XM add-on too.

This will be replacing my Ford F250 4x4 diesel supercab on 37" tires. The wife won't hate it like she did the "monster truck", the milage will be better, more interior room, will fit in parking garages, doesn't burn $5.40 diesel, and will still tow my boat.

I took the 5 years at 0.9% APR instead of the $2500 rebate- the calculators show that I'll save more that way. After dealer fees, price is $32,498 plus tax. Would have been $29,998 with rebate. My research shows that is just under invoice.

Looking forward to breaking it in and doing some mods!

Hey Zimm. I got a 2007 set up about the same way, minus the XM. 16.8 MPG around town. Not really a good highway run yet but about 21 so far. this is on ethernol 15%?
The double decker doesn't do much for me. I am up in the mountain/snow area, the 4x4 is perfect for me. welcome

Thanks!

I should mention that this is our third vehicle, so MPG isn't much of a concern. I have a '07 MX-5 (26 city/32 hwy mpg) and she has a '04 civic hybrid (40.1mpg) for commuting.

Love it so far. 19mpg on first highway trip. Up to 275 miles on it...

sweet, my folks have the same but a V6 2WD. im sure you'll love the JBL Synthesis system, amazing for a factory system. my parents have the JBL as well.

I picked it up in Springfield, VA at Key Jennings Toyota. Very nice people to deal with, they have excellent "internet pricing" and they were 2 miles from my folks place, and they had 3 V8 sport 4x4's to choose from- stock, nav, or JBL/sunroof. I'm glad I go the sunroof- the JBL was just a bonus since the truck had it. I agree that it's a decent stock system. The only car I've ever owned where I don't have to rip out the stereo for awhile (or ever). The sub works- you can hear the bass notes- can't feel them, but heck, for stock I'm happy with it.
