Hahahaha I was amazed that it was in such good shape to be an older vehicle. The more I drive it- the more I am really starting to love it. I'm a shadetree mechanic- the last motor I built (72 MG Midget) blew up about 2000 miles after I redid it. After reading through the toyota tech manual and getting a quote from one of my local guys- I think I'm going to let him handle the lower ball joints. Something about torque settings worries me when the closest thing I have is an impact driver. I did however get a new head unit and components in the front and rear doors this weekend. I have an OEM radiator and the 17 part kit from ebay that just arrived today to get all the belts/water pump/hoses redone. Received my master cylinder-ABS assembly from Charlie today. Not going to dive right into that just yet- as I believe its just the small motor doing what it does periodically. Never hurts to have a backup I guess. Will post a picture of the head unit here in a moment.

Yeah absolutely- a timing belt turned into a 23 part job. Had the entire dash and all the door panels out this weekend. Wired the entire thing up for a backup cam and a sub. Don't have either yet- but since I had the wires I figured why not. Those back door speakers and the tweeters sure are something- they def. didnt design the audio in this thing to be replaced. Also ended up losing my automatic antennae- motor went bad so I replaced it with a shorter one I picked up at the parts store. Looks fine- works just as well- and now it doesnt sound like a dying antelope everytime I turn the radio on and off. That antennae also wasnt designed to be replaced. Couldnt believe I had to take the front right off just to get to it. Fun times though- hopefully I can keep replacement jobs to small things like this for a while.
