Introduction and a couple questions

Hi all,
New hear but been lurking for a few weeks as a guest. I've been in the market for an SUV for months and all my research eventually pointed to the 4Runner. I could go on and on about why but I'm sure this crowd already knows. I eventually had to fly from SC to TX to get the one I wanted because it had to be a V8, Limited, towing package, Navigation equiped vehicle that was certified pre-owned and either white, silver or black. I thought all V8 4Runners were towing package equiped until I saw one that wasn't. I just picked up a 2004 CPO'd silver 4R with all those things as well as a sport bumper, if that's what it's called, back up camera (suppose it's standard with nav) and 35k miles. I picked it up Tuesday the 6th and drove it from Houston to Little Rock and then to Chambersburg PA so I've already put 1800 miles on it and I love it..

My question is what do you guys think of toyota's platinum care warranty upgrade to the CPO powertrain warranty?

I bought it but figure I won't get much use out of it based on testimonials from owners I know and from reading on here. It'll be worth it for peace of mind I guess.

Oh and is anyone on here the previous owner? I was registered in Michigan before and the owner had a dog. (I'll be looking for some trim pieces  )

let me guess, scratch marks on the ceiling? :)

the head liner isn't 100% but I actually just noticed that tonight. Are you the previous owner? You left a vet receipt in the glove box, lol. I really don't care about the head liner so much. It's the door trim that needs repaired or replaced. I'm in no hurry but the dog's claws ripped up the black trim closest to the window on the top inside of the passenger side door. Actually all 4 doors have at least minor damage in this area. Other than that there are a few minor scratches on the exterior, a cracked tail light, and a cracked trim piece on the inside of the rear door that no one would ever see. Most people have guessed it was new so far.

There is a guy on here by the name of Shaun who sells the warrranties for a much cheaper price. He works for a Toyota dealership. Do a search and he'll come up.

As far as the warranty, I haven't used it yet but I do have it in case something happens.
