Howdy! Ive been lurking around this place for close to a month now since I bought my first four runner. Ive been wheeling for a little over a year, and love it. My first truck was a 87 Jimmy that I bought, and had a local know it all lift it and put new axles on it, and a new transfer case. I wish I had been involved now that I'm looking to lift my 2000 SR5, but no time to learn like the present.

So I've settled on the Toytec ultimate kit with a 1 inch body lift first...followed by the diff drop and a tranny cooler. Just need to save up the cash now

One question I have to you guys is, if I go with the toytec, are the fronts going to be adequate for a aftermarket bumper in the future? or am I going to be left wanting stiffer springs later? Im thinking I'm going to need some help of a local shop for the install, because of my lack of knowledge, and I'm a bit skiddish of taking out the rear suspension springs. Unless someone in the sacramento or placer county area wants to help me and has tools

Are you for sure getting an after market bumper? The toytec ultimate comes with several options for the front springs, so you can choose a stiffer coil for no extra charge. If you don't get an aftermarket bumper though, they might seem a bit stiff.

Welcome to the forum. you will find a ton of info on this site, i have been digging round through things for just about a month now. Already I have learned a ton about the T4R's. Good luck with the project and post pics as you go.

Well then get the 650lb springs with the ultimate kit. They are having a sale right now, $900 for the ultimate if you call them and mention T4r.org. It only lasts until Feb 9th.

I'm in Auburn, Ca. Ive got no problem making trips. I've loved going to the blackrock desert in the summer for some camping trips with buddies in the past. Reno would
be easy.

Took the running boards off today...note to self, dont go through mud holes half and hour before you decide to work on your truck...oh well, gave me a reason to shower :naughty:

CB cable routing

So I ran the cable for my CB today, and after being asked by another member for pics, I decided to put them up and write it up.

Took me about 30 minutes to route my cable (18 foot fire-flex). Started from the rear, lifted up the cargo mat, then grabbed the edge of the carpet, and pulled it out from under the edge of the drivers side rear panel. Ran the cable under it, with slack so it doesnt get pulled and start to show, to the rear seat. I then removed the two screws and plastic floor panel(after removing the screws, I needed to use a flathead to pry it up to get my fingers under it to pop out the two heads holding it into the ground) I then poped off the rear plastic panel next to the rear seat. At that point I could pull up the carpet, and continued routing it down to where the other wires are running (see pic). There are some plastic wire clips to keep them together under the plastic strip I removed. I opened them up and used them to group in the coax at this point.

Once I got to the drivers piller, i opened the front, and removed the floor strip up there, then the plastic panel on the pillar, along with the drivers side kick panel. More clips for routing. I then pulled back the carped under the drivers foot area. The worst part (not saying much as this was still easy) was when i discovered some double sided stick pad holding the carpet to the floor under the accelerator. Rather than rip it off and have my carpet sag, I just pulled the edge on the right side of the drivers foot area, and fed the cable under the pad, and dragged it out with my hand.

After that, you need to disassemble your HVAC/Audio deck trim. I started by pushing both center vents down, and using that spot to pull the trim off. Its all held on my clips, so it will pop off. Once you get them all off, you need to disconnect the 4 wiring harnesses that control the hazard switch, clock, passenger seatbelt light, and defrost/ECT/rear window buttons. Took them out real easy(all have tabs you depress first, then slide out real easy) then you can pull it down farther, and remove the 3 cigarette power plug's connectors. Once your trim is totally out of the way, you can easily see through the dash to the floor where your coax is waiting. Feed it up.

Since im installing my Cobra 19 in the ashtray spot, I removed the ashtray assembly, which consists of two screws. You then slided it forward, and down to remove it. Feed the cable through the hole in the back, and your made.
