Iphone is only 3g
Yes I do give pre-consumer RIM props. Their 8800 series of phone was the best messaging device ever created. Weeks of battery life, epic keyboard, reliable network coverage, and bombproof design. The 9000, I think, was the pinnacle of ergonomics, speed, and durability. I took mine swimming more than once.
After RIM tried to target the mainline consumer market, their hardware, and more importantly their reliable software went to hell.
If you need a MESSAGING device, there is no substitute, sorry. The security of a BB and their proprietary servers is still unmatched by Apple. A hard keyboard is better for most too.
RIM still dominates the secure enterprise environment.
Ok, NOW I agree with you. You didn't give details as to why you preferred BBs; and bluntly put, most don't approach it from that POV. But having given the qualifications you did, as a government IT pro who works with these everyday, would agree with this 100%.But for regular consumers? Not a chance.
'Zactly.
The majority of consumers, especially those that know nothing, are happy that iOS "just works" which it does very well.
