iPhone to Car Integration – Like to have some help.

Folks – I hope you can help me on this ….

My mod is not that much different compared to what has been done in the past…

Goal is to have my iPhone integrated into my ’05 4Runner standard JBL Stereo Single CD Player, Radio & Cassette Player. (Just got my first 4Runner )

The main integration module is clear …. but I like to see a clean installation and having cables not coming out of drilled holes or tugged in the glove compartments etc.

So I spend some time across forums and created a schematic on what I think might work… the issue is the cable compatibility …..

Please take a look at the attachment and if possible provide some feed-back…

Looks good. I have a 2005 Limited with the iPod/iPhone connector hooked into the rear of my HU and the cable runs into the glovebox.
While it's a pain to "reach over" and open it while driving/change song/answer phone, it is well hidden and obviously provides a clean look. I didn't have it run to the center console because I already keep enough junk in there and have my A/C plug to charge my iPhone located there.

USA SPEC: PA15-TOY

I use that for music, and it stays tucked in the glove box. It displays song/artist info on the stock JBL screen and the steering wheel controls work with it.

If you want hands free calling, that's another deal -- but it does have an auxilary RCA input so you could wire in a bluetooth audio gateway.

How does the PA15-TOY behave when the stock head unit has a 6CD changer built in? Is it possible to access all 6 CDs in dash in addition to the 6 playlists on the PA15-TOY at the same time? Also, if you throw the iPod in the dash, do you manually have to press play on it each time you start the engine or will it begin playing automatically? And is there an easy way to just make it shuffle through the entire contents of the iPod? I have an '04 with the 6CD JBL head unit.

1) it works fine with the built in changer. It fools the stock headunit into thinking there's an additional external changer installed (that's actually an iPod)

2) Yes, all CDs can be accessed.

3) It will begin playing right where it left off. I leave mine in the glovebox and never take it out unless Im putting more music on it.

4) Yes, there is an option to have it play every song on the iPod in order by title. Then just hit the Randomize button on the headunit and it will shuffle everything. I think there's a "shuffle all" option built in as well.
