ipod adapter recommendation for 04 sr5

I purchased an 04 4runner sr5 that has the stock stereo. No brand name other than toyota but what seems to be a serial #16852. AM/FM/Tape/Single CD stereo. For reference an individual is selling the same stereo on ebay (mine looks identical on the front plate):

My question is the community's recommendations on an ipod adapter. Every site says that the "factory deck" will support their adaptor but there is no "aux" button on this deck so how does that work (for anyone who has done the same).

I have shopped around and have limited it down to 3 different adapters:

The difference I see are 1) price 2) the ipod2car "says" that you can control the ipod through the factory deck.

Does anyone have any experience with any of these adapters? Anyone have one (other than these) that they recommend?

I've been researching the same thing, check the Audio forum to see my thread I started.

But the short of it is that the adapters plug into the CD changer input on the back of the HU and you press the CD button to activate the iPod interface.

I was going to go with the USASpec unit until I found a similar one from Dice Electronics that will display the track titles on the HU. It also allows for navigation thru the HU and the iPod.


The DICE unit isn't shipping yet for Toyota but hopefully it won't be too much longer.

Sounds good, but if I use the cd button for the ipod then:

1. does the cd player still work?
2. does it cause any conflict with the input if I have a cd in or something like that?

Sounds likes you have this setup so figured you might know.

Well it should work just like you had a CD changer attached so the internal cd play still works and from what others have said about how theirs work (usaspec and icelink) it does.

one button press for internal player, second button press for changer (in this case iPod).
