"IPod Integration kit" on Amazon

I have a 2004 t4r limited 4wd with the JBL sound system and no navigation. I spent the past week searching for an adapter that'd allow me to use my phone for music with an aux and/or iPod connection only to find adapters costing over $100 plus shipping . I took a chance buying the no more than $30 "iPod integration kit for toyotas" from "electronique botique" on Amazon, and it worked! Watched the "GTA Car kit 4Runner" YouTube video for a 20 minute installation.

For those with the same sound system, enjoy! I'm not sure if it works with jbl systems with navigation, but I believe your radio has an empty inlet just for these types of adapter, as I've seen in photos during my search.

links pls, py pioneer avh 4400bh wudnt play videos from a flash drive even with the brake bypass..it only plays dvd discs.......wondering if its a format issue?

This is interesting... I've all but stopped listening to my iPod in the 4Runner because I absolutely HATE using the tape adapter, not to mention the constant *click click click click* sound that the tape player makes while running.

Also, how does it interface without a designated Aux button on the face? I was under the impression that we had to replace the entire head unit on our models.

**EDIT: Ok, I was looking at the cheapies that plug into the disc changer port. I think that's what you're talking about, right? Seems like it should work, but what do you do if you'd like to listen to a real CD?

I just did this same mod myself for my iPhone 4S. I believe you can use your CD if you use the branched coupler like in the GTA car kit video. I didn't bother because my CD doesn't work. I bought a kit off Amazon for $23.95 http://www.amazon.com/TOYOTA-INTEGR...F8&qid=1417113957&sr=1-1&keywords=GTA+car+kit and it works great. I wouldn't be surprised if they were all made on the same assembly line in China and had different labels slapped on the only issue is that I use an aftermarket Sirius receiver which I plug in via the headphone jack and I get a constant whirring noise which seems to increase with engine rpms. I do not get this sound with my iPhone at all, neither using the headphone jack nor the iPhone charging port, only when I use the Sirius receiver. Come to think of it, I think it was there with the cassette tape adapter I was using with the Sirius, just not as pronounced. it reminds me of the engine noise I used to get from what I believe was the alternator from my old 1970 Pontiac LeMans, a $500 junker that was my first car. I seem to remember putting some type of ignition noise suppressor on the spark plugs ? which mitigated the annoying whine to some degree.

I don't think it does because the model number isn't listed. But if anyone knows otherwise please say so. Or an option that does work that isn't the $100 GTA kit
