I have been looking around for some help as far as iPod integration goes to my 05 limited with factory navigation. As you guys already know that my navigation unit does not have a Satellite button, it doesnt play mp3s, and cd changer is $300+. I looked in to DICE and USA SPEC, which are the only two i thought were compatible with my unit. Before ordering one of these i called BEST BUY and they said they had a Peripheral Simple interface ipod (ISAS71) that would be compatible with my unit. I had my doubts but i called Peripheral and they said it will work just fine.
Interface was $100.00 and installation was $50. Came out to be $166 with tax. I got it installed by them bc its my first mod but now that i saw him work first hand its a very easy project.
If you are goin to pursuit this remember two things:
1. There are few empty slots in the back of the navigation unit, the adapters that come with the unit WILL NOT go in any of the empty slot. Instead you have to take one of the bottom left ones off, insert the adapter peripheral gives you and reconnect the one you take off to the periphereal one. Than connect the it to the ipod interface and run the wire where ever you please.
2. We almost quit on the project bc we couldnt get the ipod to show up on navi screen (cd changer option). I called peripheral right away and they told us there are switches in the back i have to flip for it to activate and come up on my navi. After doin that it worked like a charm.
Over all i'm very pleased with this product. If you handle this project on your own it will cost you around $105.00 and not a penny more. Compare this to DICE and USA SPEC which cost around $160 alone. But pay attention to the two important points so you dont think this interface doesnt work. ALSO DID I MENTION YOU CAN FLIP SONGS AND EVEN TO AM, FM, CD, AND CD CHANGER MODE FROM YOUR STEERING WHEEL!!!!!!!!!!
