Ipod / Phone charger

For those of us that don't have the USB attachment in our 4Runners (dumb mistake on my part, lol) here's a simple attachment that allows you to charge your ipod and a phone.

It sits almost flush with the outlet and is very unobtrusive. I found mine at Walmart for 12 bucks.

In my 5th gen, I got a mini jack cable and some small velcro ties. My ipod and / or phone sits on my console, and I've velcroed all the cables together and stashed them in the little shelf opening next to the outlet. It's not too bad, and it's easy to do.

This type of car charger is the best...because it is a USB end therefore it's not a Dedicated Device Car Charger.

You can plug anything in that uses USB.

Good find!!

Thank you for posting!!

This actually blew my 15amp fuse, twice. Don't buy this.

I think you have something else going on, a usb device shouldn't be able to draw 15 amps. Maybe you got one that was broken and caused a short?

Did the fuse blow as soon as you plugged in the attachment or after you hooked up a usb device?

I've had not problems with it. I only leave it plugged in while charging, because ........well.........no reason really. I just don't like it plugged in all the time.

My brother is the one who showed it to me. He's had it plugged in continuosly in his Grand Cherokee for over a year. No issues at all.
