Well let me first introduce myself. I come from IS300.net with a new Urban edition. My previous car had a little trouble and caught on fire.

Anyways, I really like my 4runner and love the fact that I can finally go over speed bumps and have a functional trunk. But I do miss my audio that was in the car so that will be overhauled into the 4runner soon. BUT for future/current owners that wish to have the iPod installed, do not use the dealer cable.
I purchased my car and their iPod cable (which Toyota said would work for the urban runners) telling the dealership to have it installed in my car.
I get the Toyota iPod cable installed and it does not work properly. The sound comes out of the speakers but I have no function on the headunit. It showed XM on the screen when it's suppose to show iPod. The dealership had no clue on how to fix it and sent me on my way with the Toyota cable.
I figured that I wouldn't get an answer right away from Toyota on how to fix this so I took my own steps and completely removed the headunit and Toyota iPod cable. After removing it, I found that there was 2 input slots. One is for the iPod and the other is for the XM. The Toyota iPod was an Alpine branded cable which makes no sense because this is made by fujitsu ten (Eclipse).
I assume that the Toyota iPod cable works with the other factory radios in the regular editions. But I found out the iPod cable is the iPC-107p that works for the Urban Runner. So I ordered the cable from Crutchfield (surprisingly, it was the cheapest there) and had the dealer install it.
The iPod adapter sucks. When you turn off the car and turn it back on, it starts completely over. For example. Say that you have a playlist of songs A, B, C. When you turn off the car, you are listening to song C but when you turn on the car again, you will be listening to song A.
Summary:
The iPod cable that the dealership does not work. You need to purchase the iPC-107p cable for it to work properly.
