Ipod Touch in 2004 4R w/JBL

Hey Guys,

Santa bought me an IPod Touch for Christmas. I am looking for a way to play it in my 2004 4runner. I have the JBL Synthesis 10-speaker system with the 6-disc in-dash changer. Has anyone done this? Which adapter would work the best for this?

trash that stock headunit and get the t1809 from a scion. thats what i, did for the same exact reason, to play the ipod, sounds way better and it looks way better to. just remember to buy the ipod wire when u buy the headunit so u can hook it all up at once.

I am not looking to change out the HU. I have recently upgraded the sub and added another 10" sub powered by a JL Audio amp. I called up crutchfield and they recommended a USA SPEC device. I have never heard of them and wanted to know if anyone else has used this adapter.

If you decide to go this route please post how it went or just let us know what you decided. Santa delivered the same thing to my house and I was hoping to find a way also!

I decided to go with the USA Spec adapter. It is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. I will report back once it is installed.

I'd be curious to hear your comments on that as well. I went with the iSimple gateway for my wife's maxima and it does the job, though nowhere near an aftermarket radio setup.

I had the same setup as you back in the day. I went with a USA Spec and didn't regret a thing. Back then it was the Toy12 (I believe) so the newer models I'm sure have more features. I was able to use it for my iPhone AND for my Sirius receiver. Both had excellent sound quality and I could control the devices via my steering wheel controller.

I installed the unit down underneath my center console compartment. Worked out great. I think you'll like it.
