Irridium Spark Plugs

I am currently running the NGK Irridium IX spark plugs. I understand that the 4runner does call for the dual electrode plugs but are there any adverse effects from running the irridium plugs? I do have better throttle response but haven't really noticed an increase in mpg. I was wondering if anyone else is running these plugs and what do you think?

I am running the Iridium IK22's. However i am supercharged and i only switched to them because they are a colder plug. I honestly can't say that i noticed a difference between the IK22's and the stock replacement NGK's that were in there. I'm sure my engine is happier though. They will reduce the chance of detonation so it was worth it just for that.

Thanks Steeze. I saw the dual electode sticker on my timing belt cover and hoped I didn't hurt my truck running the iridium plugs.

You should be fine. The reason is that they recommend the dual grounds is because they last longer than a single ground plug. The Iridium's should last longer than a platinum or copper dual ground since Iridium is a lot harder material.

I recently changed my plugs and the PO had been running single ground plugs, not sure how long they've been in there but it didn't hurt my engine or anything
