Is $500 for a 2017 TRDP suspension a good price?

Is the OEM TRDP 6112 height adjustable like the retail version? I know a lot of people were taking it off to get more lift.

If it isn't, that alone would be enough for me to pass on an OEM take-off suspension.

It looks like Wheelers is also running 25% off stuff right now... might be worth looking into.

My TRD pro Bilstein suspension is not adjustable. There is one adjustment clip but it’s only 1/4 for the driver side.

Thanks for that info... I suspected the same, and is another reason I would be hesitant to jump on the OEM stuff unless a lift is of no interest to you, then it's a decent deal for $500 if it came with front and rear shocks + springs.

The 6112 is a pretty awesome shock, I run them in the front on my 4th gen, but also used the spring perch adjustments to lift the truck.

I would say no because I got spoiled when I bought the FJ Ultimate Trail Teams TRD suspension (PTR13-35140) for $500 from a Toyota dealer. It's similar to the 4Runner TRD Pro suspension except the coil springs are longer and slightly higher rate.

Now that you mention it... I do feel like my front coils could use a small bump up in spring rate.

That said, I did buy mine before they started offering different rates on the 6112.

Update: the original buyer flaked. Never showed up. I swooped in and picked it up for $400. I might have been able to get a lower price had I been more aggressive, but I'd be punching a wall if I missed out over $50 and had to wait for the next set to pop up locally. Super excited to do the install.

Time to shop for RGs, although not feeling great about my wife greenlighting that purchase anytime soon. It'd be a shame... if I blew a Dunlop while offroading... Southern Utah has some sharp terrain. If anyone has any pointers on how to not blow a tire, I'm all ears.

Run a lower air pressure off-road
Buy a tire that has thicker sidewalls if you go often.

When I go off-road, I expect to damage something. I don't do it intentionally but I'm not going to sit there and act surprised if I do. Just do a better job of preparing for it, because it's not if, but when. Air compressor, patch kit, green slime, breaker bar, valve stems, maintained spare...

Hopefully you like the 6112 shocks. They have been good to me.

Oh I've got CF 2/1.5 ordered today and ready to go! Since it'll probably be a couple months before I get tires, I hope it doesn't look weird with the factory ones. Sometimes lifts with stock tires makes the truck look like it skipped leg day.

think i picked up the listing you were looking at, 2017 @ 37k. getting it all installed on the 14th on my 2017 trd orp w/ kdss.

to answer everyone else's question, i picked up the trd pro bilstein suspension for now as i wanted a mild lift that would play well with the kdss system (i hope) while i wait for my sonoran steel/radflo kdss kit.

Those shocks probably have 40-50k miles left. Coils are eternal.

Springs sag eventually. That's why they have service limit specs.

The 6112/5160 was the route I was going to take. Then when I saw the low mileage ‘18 pro setup, well I wanted to give it a try.

I’m not into overlanding as much as I am more into Oem TRD stuff. It’s a family hauler limited with TRD looks. So far it’s working out fine with CF 2/1.5 leveling kit.

But I’m really itching for the entry level king setup.

If you already having an itch for the king setup, I would say hold off getting the TRD Pro suspenion and save up for the King. You don't want to get the TRD Pros and end up wanting the Kings later down the line. You'll just end up spending more money. I've learned my less on that lol.
Plus the Kings are just amazing. I had the 5100 for a while before I got the Kings and it's a difference
