is adding aftermarket nav to my JBL system possible?

I'm a bit confused here...I've been out of the car audio scene for awhile now.

I have a 2006 Sport 4Runner with the JBL 10 speaker setup...and it has the single CD. It has NO factory Navigation, just the single CD insert.

I'd like to one day add a touch screen Navi and get rid of the single CD. Obviously I'd have to go double-din and thats fine....the main question is though, is this possible? I think I have to rip out the entire JBL system if I want to add an aftermarket Navigation system right? Or can I just leave the entire JBL system in and take out the factory CD player and throw in an aftermarket navi? Is it possible?

You can add an aftermarket NAV deck, but you'l need a special wiring harness to access the JBL amp and speakers. I have an Alpine unit using a metra harness.

Wow, this is awesome news!

All I need is a harness? is there only one type of harness? Are any of them better than the other?

Can I still use my steering wheel controls for volume and stuff?

What about the AUX port, can I still use the one in the center console?

What about the center speaker on my dash, does that get used after switching to an aftermarket Navi/audio system?
