Is getting a black runner worth it?

I had a black car a long time ago. I do remember two things: nothing looks better than a clean black car, nothing looks worse than a dirty black car.

Im looking at specfically two colors in the '98 modles, blue or black. Anybody out there have either of these colors and can say how dirty their runner can get before they notice?

Or for that matter the interior colors of blue or tan, does dirt show easy etc. Just decisions...

You're definitely right about the black - Looks like a million bucks when its clean but terrible a day or two after.

Go with the blue. That looks good.

Me too, It rained like crazy here yesterday and I went through who knows how many puddles and the only part that really looked dirty was the running boards (the black parts).

thats an intresting color blue, but on the other hand if your like me and clean your car every other day then id go with the black

Me personally, having owned a black car before, I'd definitely go w/ blue (if we are simply basing it on color alone.)

I've always thought black and white vehicles look the best clean, but the worst dirty. (I guess that's why I went w/ silver, so I don't have to wash it all the time.) Unless you plan on cleaning a your vehicle a lot, then go w/ a neutral color like that blue, silver or tan.

I own a 98 Azure blue. Great color.
I can go months w/out washing my truck now that I am in Texas without it bothering me.
My good friend has a black 98 and it does stand out when clean.
I will try and get soem pics this weekend side by side if you want.

Yes black looks great clean. But it only takes 3 days to get covered with dust where I work. VERY frustrating. If I could go back I would have chosen white, stays cool in the sun and doesn't look dirty too fast.

my silver runner is easy to keep clean and looks good dirty..

I have a black bmw and yeah its hard to keep clean but once its clean it is the best lookin car you will ever see

If you decide to get black and like to keep your 4Runner clean, be prepared to spend lots of time with a sponge, hose, and towels!!

i have a black 4runner. the bad thing about it is if you go out into the country, you will expect alot of dust, not dirt. but compare to my sister's white accord, her car is more noticable with the dirt rather than mine. but either way, i love cleaning my car just because i love my 4runner. :biggrin2:

It's darker but real easy to keep clean. Problem is that there are not a great deal of them around

Had a dark green Gen 2 95 T4R. It looked so good when it was clean, but I live on gravel roads so it was never clean. Additionally the interior temps on a dark vehicle are significantly higher when they

Like everyone says, black looks better than anything else when it's clean. It's classy and really stands out. It also looks great when you've got it cleaned up, and then get mud on it - nice contrast. I've got a black Runner and the worst problem is water spots. I don't think it'd get any other color car unless it was used and I didn't have a choice. I vouch for its worth... go for it!
