Is it an easy DIY? Replacing master cylinder pressure sensor

My ABS light came on, and after paying the dealer $90 they told me it was error code C1246, and that I need to replace the master cylinder pressure sensor, which seems to equate to the pressure metering valve. They want $440 for the valve, and another 2 hourse for the install.

I can get the part on line for $315 delivered. Has anyone changed this out before? Is it accessible? Any tricks to it?

I don't have a good answer for you... I will say if you can keep that '96 Saab running it should be easy:whipping2 :lmao: (I can say that, my best friend since 1979 is a Saab freak.)

Well I don't see a pressure metering valve in this diagram but the pressure sensor looks pretty easy to do. You have to wonder if the sensor is bad or perhaps there is contamination in the brake fluid or some other reason for the light like a leaking brake hose or caliper. I can't imagine paying that amount for the sensor either. In any case here is an exploded diagram if you don't already have one.
