I'm pretty sure they are fine...as long as your run Amber bulbs for the turn signals, clear for reverse, and red for running/stop light. Blcktpgsr ran them for a while, and now Taylor has them on his rig......

The add should specify if it's DOT approved ......so read all the fine print.....it should be there. :)

O ok so i just got to use colored bulbs for them. u thing parts houses would have the right bulbs or would this be a online only item

glad someone asked this. i was thinking about getting some of these as well. anyone got quick access to a pic of these on a runner? not sure how they would look

all clear are not legal since you need to have a rear facing RED reflector. That's why the Lexus RX with all clear lights has the lame red reflector on the lower bumper.

If you run them I would either spend the money on the LED's or bulb condoms since the colored bulbs usually look pink after about 2 days.

not sure im digging the look. my boss has that lexus and i really dont like how the back end looks. his is black. my runner is silver and i thought since all my front lights are white these might help tie it all together. i may just buy em then tint em all a smoked black.

check out ryhis build. He got clear tails and painted em red/white, inverted. Looks pretty cool, and if I got these, I would probably do something like that.

It would vary state by state. Some guys chiming in here are from Canada ect.

I see you are from OK. The laws in California or New England will be different than OK.

I don't think those would be legal in California but I think it is the kind of thing that cops turn a blind eye to.

:boxer:

I have clear tails. I looked up the laws here in WI and all it said was turn signals and brake lights must emit amber/orange/red light. Nothing about reflectors.

"Retroreflectors" (also "reflex reflectors") produce no light of their own, but rather reflect incident light back towards its source, e.g., another driver's headlight. They are regulated as automotive lighting devices, and specified so as to account for the separation between a vehicle's headlamps and its driver's eyes. Thus, vehicles are conspicuous even when their electrically powered lighting system is off or disabled. Regulations worldwide require each vehicle to be equipped with rear-facing red retroreflectors.[5][15] Since 1968 North American regulations also require side-facing retroreflectors, amber in front and red in the rear.[5] Sweden, South Africa and other countries have at various times required white front-facing retroreflectors.

I went through this all like 12 years ago when they sold clear lights for EVERYTHING before 1998 when the Altezza came out and started that terrible craze.

It's covered under FMVSS. Federal, not State law.

Socco, you are speaking of Canadian federal law. Why are Canadians commenting about our laws? it is just confusing the thread.

The OP is an American and lives in Oklahoma (OK), USA.

In the US laws on vehicle lighting vary state by state, not US Federal law. For example in SC many people run vehicle lighting kits which are illegal in California (CA).

OP should refer to his states laws.

.... btw nice prof. pic amigo.

I got pulled over twice in my 04 xB because of the stock tail lights. They were like a smoked white, but included a red reflector to be legal. It was annoying as hell getting pulled over for OEM parts.
