Is it possible to pause factory CD player on JBL?

I currently have a JBL non RDS head unit soon to be replaced by Kenwood nav but in the meantime, I'm using the CD player with a language CD. Other than switching over to another input (FM etc), I can't figure out any way to pause the CD. I looked in the factory manual and couldn't find anything there.

Does anybody know if it is possible to pause a CD on the JBL head unit?

Pressing the power button does turn off the player and then it restarts in the same spot but we're using it for language CD and it's a pretty big delay when you just need to pause it for a second, frequently. I'm installing a DNX-6160 soon so hopefully that will have a true pause button.
