Do you think that would be worth the little money they want for it? I would think it would be more free-flowing than any mods you could possibly do to the stock airbox/intake/silencer/etc

It's cheap, I'd give it a shot. I've used SRI's on other vehicles. If you live in a cooler area then I think it can be a +. If you live in a hot area, then SRI's notoriously take in warmer air thus hurting performance or at least negating any gains you would've had using it in a cooler climate.

If you want a better name, check K&N's intake kits.

It's more expensive, probably $200.

But they're CLAIMING 9.5HP increase. Obviously you need to take into account they're dynoing in optimal conditions. But at least K&N's has a heat shield, whereas yours does not.

you can probably heat shield it and still end up being cheaper than the K&N.

While I don't dispute that there are intakes out there that result in this, I'd be very surprised if K&N's did. do you have a link? article?

keep in mind the car that is doing the dyno testing for this has a supercharger along with many other high performance drivetrain upgrades, but is in fact a 4Runner. Some engine setups just dont work well with certain parts and the yota 3400 is one of them.
