is my rear end on the quits??

08 2WD 97k miles, having driveline whine at freeway speeds, changes tone when you get off the throttle, all the typical symptoms i've read about regarding rear end noise...havent really heard any fixes, other than to take it to the dealer and see what they might do about it...anyone have any other recommendations? has anyone seen any failures? thanks! btw changed the fluid few weeks back

I haven't heard about too many failures, but I know a few people here (myself included) have had to have their pinion bearings replaced. Is it still under warranty?

not any warranty i'm aware of...how bad is the replacement on the pinion bearing?

Mine was under warranty, so i'm not sure about price, but it is fairly labor intensive.
