Is something wrong with my cruise control

OK so I'm noticing this more often and more often now if I put it on cruise control in about 70 to 73 miles an hour on the highway the slightest little bit of incline kicks it down out of overdrive. It never used to do this I'm just wondering what it could be , no codes and other than that everything's good with the vehicle

Install larger tires lately?

All of our 3.4s do the same thing, sometimes even kick it down into 2nd (especially on larger hills, and more so in mine with the larger tires). I think it's just doing its best to keep up as fast as it can, not trying to drop ~5mph, and the only way it can is a lower gear.

Last year, Its always done it to some degree just seems a lot more often on less of a grade.

Could be a sign that it's time for a tune up, or maybe you got some bad gas?

You don't have a year in your sig so not sure if you're fly by wire or not. If not, you could try taking the slack out of your cable and see if that helps. I noticed it helped mine a little.

Is your ect power button active? That would make your transmission kick down sooner than not.
