Is that a siphon in the jack compartment?

I was trying to find a place to mount a dvd player (I need to start another thread on that topic!)... I was looking in the jack compartment (drivers side rear). There is a clear plastic tube. Anyone know what it is for?

I noticed the same and can only venture a guess that it is for the rear wiper spray nozzle. Can't think of anything else that it would be.

IIRC, it's a little to big to be the hose for the rear window sprayer...though i could be wrong. Also, (again IIRC) there is a smaller tube that runs down the other side of the truck, through the front and rear door sills and into the passenger rear quarter panel. That one is probably the window sprayer.

It's possible that the left side tubing near the jack is some sort of drain tube to let water/ice drain off the top of the truck.

When I was exploring the compartments of the 4Runner, I also came across that tube too. I think it has to do with the sunroof because when the dealer was fixing my sunroof, they broke it and that is the piece that I found laying on the floor when I picked it up. It looks exactly like that tube you are describing.

I'm glad I ask questions like this. I saw this tube earlier today while I was browsing. I just took a closer look at it and removed the lug wrench. I saw that there was a drain tube as well. When I first noticed the tube, it was not connected to anything. So if it is some kind of drain, I'm REALLY glad I found out it was not connected. Here's a pic if anyone cares.

Wow, are we sure that is where it goes??...My 4runner is only 2+ weeks old and mine tube is jusy hanging there, not connected to anything....crapola...should i go ahead and plug it in??

Hmmm.... I guess I'm not sure, but I figure you have a male end and female end. Nature says they should connect. I guess if this tubing is for some kind of air pressure regulator, then it wouldn't need to be connected....

where's our toyota tech guy????
