I think so, it's the one that keep showing up when you google lifted GX460.
Lots of heavily modded 470s out there.
Is the 3rd row useful? Anyone miss the V8?

That actually is my first choice, but...
The extra 15"L and 5"W is is too much for the wife. It is not much on paper, but a lot of metal in person and driving downtown.
You can remove the middle seat from the second row and have easy access to the 3rd row.

You should know the 3rd row does not have any rear tethers for front facing car seats, for that reason I wouldn't put one back there unless there's a car seat that can face forward without mandating the rear tether - I haven't found one yet that doesn't. Rear facing with the seatbelt might be your only option.
is that a GX or 4runner? My 4runner looks just like that in every way other than the seat color.This shows the difference:

Those are both 4runners.
The GX interior is nearly identical to a 14+ limited though. You'll notice a few nicer features for the rear passengers - like speakers, air ducts, and power folding seats. I also like how they've added storage for the jack and tools in the rear door. OTOH I wouldn't trade that for the roll down window. I use that a lot. The middle row of the GX also gets heated seats and independent climate control. And more headroom throughout. I also don't much like the window switch placement on the 4runner up on the sill. If nothing else my dogs often roll down the windows. There's probably a lot of other features depending on model as well. Our RX350 has a LOT more fun stuff - like auto adjusting brights, road following headlights, dual climate control, ventilated seats, etc. I'm sure the GX has all of those as well if you choose the right package.

I guess I'm a man of another age. I don't want all that electronic crap that I don't NEED, and that's exactly what I told the salesman who tried to get me to buy a LTD. Fancy gadgets don't do it for me, I prefer utilitarian things that work and don't require a procedure to operate.
I sold a '92 Bronco to buy my 4Runner, and miss the solid mechanical feel of things. Admittedly the 4Runner has a much smoother ride, but at the cost of a disconnect in the sensation of driving. There's nothing wrong with mechanical linkages and things that go CLUNK when you move them. I prefer not to have auto-headlights as well, too many experiences with them flashing on and off when they need to be just one or the other.

I think I'm in the minority, too. I hate auto headlights. The more control I can have over my vehicle, the better. I also think my 4Runner's V6 is really quick! I'm sure it's because I've never driven the V8. Ignorance is bliss, haha.

After selling my truck and when my mom could no longer drive I actually contemplated buying her GX instead of a 4Runner. They look great with a small lift and it had all the goodies like KDSS, Xreas, leather, and of course the V8.
The V8 was really the deciding factor on passing on that idea as it got horrible mileage and loved its premium fuel. The Nav. was also useless but that was more due to the technology around in 2007 when she bought it.
As has been said in just about every post if a 3rd row is something you need then neither a 4Runner or GX is really a good fit. They are extremely cramped and with car seat laws I'd imagine the amount of time kids would want to ride back there would be pretty short. Not to mention that it eats up a huge portion of your cargo area.
I do miss the leather though... And if I had the money a lifted GX would definitely be high on my list.....or a LC

Not sure if you got your answer on the 3rd row or not. I have 3 kids (2, 4, and 5 years old) we have 3 car seats. The third row is not accessible with the car seats in. Even with just 2, one in the middle and the other by the door on the 2/3s part of the seat it does not work. The middle car seat overlaps the outside seats and you can't really move the sear far enough forward. We often pick up my niece and nephew and we just have them crawl over the 2nd row or crawl in through the back. I don't know that even a suburban would really be much better if you have a car seat in the middle of the 2nd row.
The third row also has no air so even for little people it gets warm, you can blast the front vents up at the roof to get some air back there. Its good in a pinch for around town, I think of them more as jump seats.
We'll probably be getting a Sienna soon for the wife, which means the 4Runner will become my full-time ride (when the weather is unfavorable for the moto

It's nice to have but I've been reading thru threads to have them removed. Haven't found anything super useful but I'd like to get it as close to the 5-seat model as possible. Perfectly fine to use around town but, as others have suggested, they're really just good for last minute jams or carting kids to birthday parties etc.

You don't have to use auto headlights. If you want you can turn them off, on, or auto. They only turn on automatically when it gets dark if you have the setting on "auto". On the auto bright/dim mode they do more by going DRL, auto lights, then turn the brights on and off with other light sensors. It actually functions amazingly well recognizing both headlights and tail lights at the proper distance. Not to mention that the Lexus lights follow the road around corners and are a much better wider pattern.
My 4runner lights are pretty good, but the lexus lights are much better.

I don't think Toyota should even offer a 3rd seat in the 4Runner. I looked at one in a Limited when I bought my Trail and unless you are a midget or 5 year old rug rat, they are useless and just take up space I need for things I want to haul, like backpacks. Because I actually use my 4Runner. For trips to the mountains and not the mall.

My 5'2" wife says it's fine for her, when my folks visit much easier than two cars everywhere we go. Otherwise only for kids and my 6yr old is growing like a weed so he'll be back there in a booster soon enough.
Besides its easier for me to sleep back there since the floor is raised, extra stuff can go on the roof rack.
But I cruise the malls a ton so I fit in better with third row in my LE.

You get a pass J because I know you actually use your 4Runner.
My post was actually tongue in cheek humor. I rarely have more than two people in mine so I love the cargo space much more than people hauling capability.
