Is the IDAC valve worth buying?

So lately i've been having all the symptoms of a bad idac, high rpms, wants to die when starting sometimes (when cold), and all the other signs..

My question: is it worth just buying a new part, i found one for 120 on amazon, or should i just try to clean the throttle body and the idac?

If cleaning it might not fix it completely, im thinking i should just buy it right? My main concern is money, im a poor income-less college student haha so anywhere i can save money ill take it..

Clean it. Take off the throttle body and then take the IAC off the bottom. Be very careful not to strip the screws holding it in place. Use some carb or brake cleaner and spray it down. You may take some QTips to get deep into it.
Try the cheapest way first. If cleaning it doesn't work, then move on to your next option.
