Is the Sequoia as offroad Capable

Sequoia is a larger SUV. Because of it's size and length, it cannot negotiate some of the turns/twists as well as the 4Runner or LandCruiser. I think in order of off-road worthiness, you would have the FJ, followed by the LandCruiser and 4Runner (very close together), then the Sequoia, the the Rav4 and Highlander.

I agree with this. For a large SUV, it's pretty good. The underbody is very similar to 4runner/FJ and is less clean than TLC. If i remember correctly, then the Sequoia has a weird way of locking the center diff. It's not a separate button like in 4runner, but you have to shift into 4-LO in 1st gear or something.
I don't think it's nearly as capable at the 4Runner, but that's my opinion based on its size and the appearance of its rear differential and undercarriage; not scientific proof.
The Sequoia is more an on-road Soccer-mom mobile, if you ask me. Not a true off-vehicle like the LC and 4Rnr, and certainly one without the off-road pedigree of these two.

4wd system, gearing, clearance, tire size and anything related to traction....yes
Breakover angle will suffer from the extra wheelbase, tight trail performance will be hamperd by extra width, length, etc.
The question is...what type of offroading are you honestly looking to do with it? If you're thinking rubicon....probably not the best platform. If you're thinking a nice, comfortable, larger SUV to go camping with, go down some logging roads with waterbars, pull the ATV's/sleds, etc, it is an excellent choice.

My dad has a Sequoia and it's never been off road....I have to say it is much larger than my 4Runner and it would be very cumbersome off road.
But it's probably built with the same quality and underbody protection as the 4Runner....it's just much larger.
Plus the '01 Sequoia 4 wheel drive system is annoying. It is very sensitive to wheel spin and will cut all power to the wheels if it senses spin....only way to shut of it to engage 4 wheel drive. The system on my 03 4Runner is much better.... :bigok:
