Is there a time/mileage to replace the throttle position sensor?

I recently replaced my toyota sprinter's (Geo Prizm) throttle position sensor at 250 K miles and this made wonders.

My 4unner is at 200K and no check engine light but planning to get a new TOYOTA TPS. Is this something good to do?

What was the benefit to your prizm? Gas mileage?

If it gives you a code to do such. For under $50 there are many worse ways to spend Grant.

P0120 is the code. Yes, I had that code recently, replaced my TPS, issue solved

Geo Prizm! Man I grew up in one of those cars (now you can guess my age...).

I don't think it's going to do much for you. My experience with OBD-I cars is that the sensors will fair but not throw a code unless it alters emissions. OBD-II cars will throw a code immediately. I remember replacing the TPS and ECT sensor on my pickup and it doing wonders as well. Don't expect it on the 4Runner though.
