Is there any way to turn off all the Nannies ?

Hello all

I just got my 2007 GX470 and took it out 4 wheeling yesterday. I am blown away on how well it handles the bumps and choppy terrain for a stock rig. I also have a heavily modified 80 series Landcruiser seen here http://www.expocruiser.info/ that I have owned for 13 years.

My question is has anyone found out a way to disable the traction control and associated nannies ? I know the 4runner and FJ cruiser guys have it figured out, I would love to have that option as well. I do love the safety of the system when driving on the highway and would always have it enabled.

I could not make it up a steep hill in very loose dirt because of this problem last night. My 80 would have walked right up it with out hesitation. I know the GX can do it I just need a way to turn off all the systems.

Any thoughts?

I know there are links to online manuals but I'm not sure there is one for the GX.

Let us know how you make out.

The guys on here would love to see some pics of you wheeling it.

ok , we fully intend on making the LX a high speed desert rig, I am going to go with a mid travel suspension from Icon and get it all kitted out for overlanding. Will post updates as I do them. Cant wait to get the LX done :)

If the center diff is locked, the dash light should come on to signify it's locked, and the VSC light should be lit on the dash as well, signifying the system has been disabled.

I'm sure you mean GX, right? Or do you also have an LX?:confused:

Sorry, yes I meant GX, I fat fingered / brain tooted the keys

Sorry I started this just wanting the traction control off only without locking the t-case.

I have seen the 4Runner guys get this done, its nice for drifting around tight turns on gravel roads. Super fun

I think you'd be further ahead wiring in a separate switch to shut off the VSC, as you'd still want a way to lock the center diff. Good luck with it!
