Is there away to disable my power antennae?

Hello all,

Yesterday I fired up my 4Runner and the power antennae started making a terrible grinding noise. It sounds like the motor that raises and lowers it is messed up. Is there a fuse or something that I can pull that will keep it from working while I source the part to replace it? Its just annoying as all get out!

You can look under the fender and cut the wires. Or remove your radio and cut the red and blue wire going to amplifier. (That was the colors for me).

Or you can cut your wheel hard left and pull back the black wheel well plastic and unplug the connector. I'd do it this way.

That's what I did.

I did break one or two of the plastic tabs that hold the fender liner in but there are enough of them there to hold it in place.

Or buy a static antenna that doesn't move.
