Is This a Counterfeit Spark Plug Sold by Amazon?

There was a study a year or so ago that bought something like a hundred or a couple hundred sort of random items on Amazon. If I remember right the conclusion was almost half were counterfeit. I assume almost everything I buy on Amazon is counterfeit now.

I needed injectors for my power stroke I bought them from a pretty well known diesel parts supplier online. The ones I received looked counterfeit to me. They're all rebuilt, even Ford motorcraft aren't new. But these were not cleaned or polished like the motorcraft ones. So I contacted Ford motorcraft counterfeit protection team. They were very quick to get back with me and had me send in some detailed pictures of the injectors I had. (They're expensive - $200/ea). Ford confirmed they were not Ford parts. I still had to file dispute with PayPal because the seller wouldn't replace it return. That was KT Performance.

I was surprised how responsive Ford's team was. I don't know how Toyota would do on this sort of thing. I'd hope that they would be quick to take a look at your pictures of them and tell you if it's real or not.

I just bought 6 plugs direct from a Toyota dealer and they say “Japan” on the plugs and “Made in Japan” on the box, just like the previous set I bought. So don’t believe everything Car Care Nut says. They were unavailable on the Toyota parts website for awhile so maybe they had US supplier issues.
Less than $6.50/ea with last weekend’s sale!

Amazon is now land of the fakes. I don’t buy anything there anymore. You have no idea what you’re getting. It could be toxic vitamins, explosive electronics, parts that catch fire. You just don’t know and Amazon truly doesn’t care anymore. That place is going down harder than humans have seen before soon.

Buying car parts now that aren’t from a dealer is just begging for a disaster. I guess some parts aren’t risking your life, but many are. China is all in on selling the world counterfeit garbage. They have mastered it, and online sellers just buy the garbage and pass it on. I would not be surprised if dealers are even getting caught up in it. China is masterful at penetrating markets with their fake dog sh*t goods.

Yeah I had an expensive experience with counterfeit plugs on my daughter's Highlander. I hadn't watched the Car Care Nut's video until afterward!

I bought my iridium plugs 15yrs ago ..ac delco ...I inspected them 35K miles and 80K miles and those plugs look like new ..
the OEM plat plugs worn out around 40K miles on my 2000 GM truck..
Toyota spec replaces the plugs around 120K miles.
