Is this a decent price for an 04

I've been in a hunting mode lately for a 4th generation since my classic decided it wants a new motor and I don't particularly want to deal with it. Figured it was a good excuse to upgrade. Anyway found a 04 V6 4x4 with 56000 miles on it that is in really nice condition. I would give it an 8.5 on a 10 scale and with a detailing up to a 9. Anyway $16K is the price the seller wants and thats as low as they will go. Does it sound fair to you guys. I know its not a smokin deal but does seem fair to me but I wanted to make sure I'm not being blind to it now that I saw it and want it. The price comes out between the Excellent and Good range on KBB which is about were I would rate the truck.

Also any issues with the 04's that I should be aware of. Thanks

Damn!!! I paid 10,500 for my 04 sr5 2wd v6 60k on w drop down DVD player in the rear.

But it needed new tires and I had to get the front rotors resurfaced.

Bought it in alabama.
 
I agree it sounds fair, I spent all summer searching daily online for mine. Check carfax, and maybe take it somewhere to have a pro look it over/under.

Sounds like you got a great deal! However, 4WD does come with a higher price. I also think that price sounds pretty fair.

Edit - before you buy, make sure the truck engages in 4Hi & Lo.
 
Thanks for all the replies fella's I thought it was a fair price for a 4WD model so I went ahead and told the seller I would take it and we are finalizing the deal on Saturday or Monday depending on time constraints.

I just wanted to make sure from some other independant folks the price sounded like it was in the ballpark because after I drove it I of course wanted it straight away. I have a 4Runner weakness........:eek:

As far as the 4WD, both lo and high engaged fine and I drove it for a few blocks in each gear. No issues noted. The truck ran strong overall IMHO. Didn't note any sulfer smell and no squealing belts or anything. This will be my 3rd 4Runner and 6th Toyota Truck overall so I have a little knowledge about Yotas but this is however the newest one I will have owned so I have a learning curve here with it.

The car fax is clean and looks good. It was originally was purchased in November of 2004. I will be the third owner essentially since the current owner just purchased one month ago but ran into a financial crisis and needs to unload to get the cash. I was a little nervous about this but she seemed legit and even gave me the inspection report she just had done by a mechanic. Everything checked out and the mechanic recommended spark plug and fluid exchange all the way around at 60K.

I'll give it a good once over inspection when I go to get it but it seems solid so I think it should be parked in the driveway within a few days. Thanks again for the input guys.
