is this a good deal on rims/ tires?

Good morning. I saw an ad on craig's list for brand new Interco TRXUS tires (31/10.5/15) on brand new mickey thompson classic polished aluminum rims. the guy is asking for $1000 for all.
just wondering if anyone has any experience with this brand of tires or rims? Right now I have firestone destinations on my truck, but probably need to get new tires sometime soon anyway. I don't do a lot of serious off-roading, but go on trails and such sometimes.
And.... does this seem like a bad deal, fair deal, good deal, or a steal to you? (I want a steal!)

well the tires alone are likely worth close to $1K alone so the wheels in essence would be "free"

Is it a steal? well sort of.. If you really don't offroad much these tires would be overkill for street use.

The rims are not particularly expensive-I believe about $140 each or so. So that is about $560 worth of rims for "free"

Nonetheless this would be an attractive deal all the same.

I thought about having the intercos/ mickey thompsons from craigslist for winter and others for summer. do you know how many miles these would last? do you think it would kill my gas mileage? I will try to post a link.

A couple of things to consider. First of all, you might not be too impressed with those tires in winter. Aggressive tires typically do not do well in snow and especially on ice. Second, you will most likely see 40k miles absolute tops, and thats rotating every 5k religiously. Lastly, unless your 4Runner is base model and currently has 15" wheels on it, there is a really good chance those wheels will not fit over your brake calipers anyways. Gas mileage shouldn't be too much of a concern with only a 31" tire but it really depends on what you are currently running. If you are running the stock 265/75/r16 then these tires are essentially the same size, but again the wheels probably won't fit anyways. More info about your 4Runner would help (i.e.. current wheel/tire setup.)
