Hey, Im thinking about selling my car... a 96 mustang gt with 70,000 miles on it.. kept in very good shape.. then im planning to get a 96- 4 runner.. I was looking at isuzu troopers just because they are cheap 4x4s and I hear there good off road but I really dont like the look of them and it looks like there not built to last. Anyways i found a 96 4 runner 4x4 in great condition with 150,000 miles.. its at a dealer and hes asking 4900.. If I can get it for 4000 do you think it would be worth it? Please dont respond if your an idiot.. thanks

Hi...in order to be more accurate with your price you need to list some important information. Is it an SR5, or a limited? Is it a V6 or 4 cyl? There are lots of resources out there to help you out too. Check http://www.nadaguides.com. I'd also check http://www.edmunds.com and look at there TMV appraiser. It's fairly detailed. For what it's worth...I live in PA and got my 96 SR5 V6 with 135K on it with only a dented rear bumper for $2800. However, it was a pretty lucky find. Good luck on the search.

There are a of of variables and going to the sites like edmunds.com is a good guide. Around here in Atlanta, that is a pretty good deal. First off that is good miles for a 96 and it is a 4X4, which is very hard to find under $5,000 for a third generation model. A 2wd with about the same number of miles runs around $5900 here. Of course being 13 years old, it really comes down to the condition of the car.
Last year I looked at a 98 2WD with more miles, it was somewhat rough in my opinion and was $6,900. I passed on the deal.

May be tad high but you really need to see it first hand and get a feel for her. If its in great shape and you love it then try to talk em down a bit, as there is ALWAYS room to haggle. I will tell you this, when I got rid of my 1996 SR5 (god I wish I never did by the way) it had 140,000 and still looked brand new in and out and still drove that way. It was that I just had it for 10 years I wanted to try some thing different..(A nissan and let me tell ya the grass is not always greener on the other side, what a POS the pathfinder was) and I still regret it today. You will get a million diffferent opinions but the choice is really up to you, first start by test driving it and check out the trucks bones. Good luck, you wont be dissapointed with it.
