Hello,
I am new to this forum, and I am interested in buying a Toyota again. My first Toyota was a 1981 4x4 in high school , then a 1983 4x4 in the Navy, and finally a 1991 xtra cab 4x4 when I got married. I got away from Toyota's as my family grew, but they are now in college etc. I have around $6,000 to spend so help me figure out what to buy.
I am looking at a 1996 Rav4 w/ 65,722 miles on it for the same price, but I have always liked the 4runners and have never owned one. What would be your choice, and why.

1988 Toyota 4 Runner. 4x4, SR5, V6, automatic. 121k original low miles. Power windows, locks and mirrors. Sunroof, A/C, tilt, cruise control. Tow package. New battery. New 31" mud tires (best ones Les Schwab had to offer.) New water pump. New timing belt. New transmission fluid. All original (never modified, lifted or abused). Shiny original paint. Interior is as clean as a whistle. No stains, rips or tears. One of the last years available with the famous removable top. Beautiful condition. I can't go anywhere without someone complimenting how nice it is... even the mechanics down at Wheeler Toyota loved it
