Is this a good deal_ordering a 4Runner

Hello friends,

I am from Saint Louis area.

I have been trying to shop for a 4R, Sport V8 4x4 Galactic Gray.

The least dealers in the area quoted was $31,700 (approximate) OTD including options like Sunroof, JBL audio with CD changer, rear spoiler, DD cargo cover, 115 V Power outlet. This price does not include Registration, TT & Licence.

I have come up with one dealer who will order for me 4R sport without sunroof or JBL audio. Well, the only options I requested is a rear spoiler. The dealer says he can sell at invoice price (the term he used was cost price). OTD price will be Invoice price which is $29,232+$100+$99 documentation. I am not interested in Sunroof, heard about all the rattles here, and I am not a big audiophile, factory CD player is fine with me.

Is this a good deal.

Its a pre-order, so he expects my wait will be around 16 weeks. Do you have any ideas about the wait, or my obligations as a customer. The dealer insists on $500 non-refundable deposit. What if, if the car comes with some scratches or some other minor mechanical flaws.....

I am new to all this and I appreciate your information.

Welcome man, as for ordering a 4Runner what I would do is tell them I want the truck for this much, I don't want the sunroof or the JBL and the salesman should make you a deal on the truck with the JBL and sunroof for what you want or close to what you want or they might find a truck that has 1 or the other, I've purchased many vehicles and I know the game, my 03 4Runner has way more options on it then I wanted point being I knew what the dealer had so I went in with something they did not have and ended up driving away with a vehicle that was loaded for the price of a lesser vehicle.

All dealers are different but I found that most dealers are willing to give a better deal on the vehicles they have on the lot then if someone comes in and wants a specific vehicle,

As for the sunroof, I have an early model 03 with no issues, and Im not part of the loud crowd but I always opt for the better sound system.
