Is this a good Timing belt kit?

Well the 4Runner now was over 187000kms on it, and I don't even know if the Timing belt has ever been done! I'm thinking of tackling this with a friend in a month or two, but want to start looking into pricing.

I've found this kit on E-bay.....is it worth buying? Do I need all of this stuff???

I bought the same one but without the tensioner. I will be installing it in October. Make sure to change the drive belts and the thermostat if it has not been done previously.

Check out Durk's link in a previous post that he used that is a great write up on the Tbelt change.

I bought the one from aircabinman. It tells you where all the parts are from, not just that one thing. It has everything except the radiator hoses. Mine went in fine except a snafu with the timing that could have been avoided. I liked getting the kit so you can tear in on Saturday and not end up missing something.

Yours is good, but missing thermostat and accessory belts. Aircabinman's kit has those.

Thanks for all the replies guys! And Thanks Durk for the write-up! I don't really need the belts, as I already have brand new ones sitting in my garage....and I can buy the thermostat seperately. Glad to hear the kit has quality parts....I'll hopefully be able to get this done in the next month or so....money is a little tight right now...and I'm saving some cash to put a new heat source in my house.......

Holy cow, no kidding.

Just go with the aircabinman kit. Lots of folks here have used it, they were very quick to ship for me, and their shipping is reasonable.

Never hurts to have more parts than you need.

Remember folks, it is Canada. Tariffs at work, no matter how much one wants to promote NAFTA or the like.

Get the heat source fixed first though.

I used Aircabinman's kit a few months ago and everything in the kit and the install went ok.

If you plan on doing it yourself.........

You better get a plan together for the crank pulley bolt.

You don't have to pull the A/C compressor to change the tensioner.

It can be replaced easier if you have a long 1/4" extension and helper up top to help guide the socket on.

Thanks folks for all the comments and info...unfortunately...Shipping always kills us here in the Canada...great Country....stupid costs when buying stuff from over the border!
