Is this a part?

When I purchased my 99 T4R, I thought there was a chunk of the front bumper that had been torn off, and since I figured the only way to fix it was to get a whole new bumper, I decided to forget about it.

Today though, I was looking closer at it and noticed that it doesn't really look like anything broke off. Instead it looks like this is a filler piece of some sort that somehow went missing. The edges of this 'hole' are all clean and look molded, like a new piece could fit right in.

Is there such a piece? If so, what the heck is it's purpose and is it possible to get a new one to pop in?

If anyone knows anything at all about this, I'd really appreciate some help.

i dont know the purpose of this but i do know that if u can find a spare one that someone isnt using or in a junkyard then itll fit right up.

I was looking at that piece on mine yesterday trying to figure out what it was for.

You remove it to get to the tow hooks. Helps not fubar the bumper when tension is applied to straps.

I think there is one on the other side too.

Nope, just one... i thought there was supposed to be two at first also bc it looks like they made a mistake bc its only on one side. Looks kinda dumb to only have one in my opinion.
