Is this a reasonable price?

I'm in the market for a vehicle for myself and since I love our 2004 4Runner that my wife drives, I've been looking at older models for myself. This will be mainly for driving to and from work.

What do you guys think of this one? Is the price reasonable? Is there anything on these year models I should be aware of?

The 3.0 is a dog. No power.
I'd go with a 3rd gen. instead of a 2nd gen. ( 96 - 02 )
Arguably the best years for looks, reliability, re-sale, etc....

How much did he want for it? $3,450? I paid $4K for my 99 with 112K miles on it.

I say pass.

Yeah, I'd like to have a 96 and above, they're just out of my price range of $3000-$3500.

It's a reasonable price. I would try to talk them down, but since it is a 2wd it should be a little lower. A 3rd gen is really the way to go. I wish I had. I would ask them about the new engine that is in there. Ask if the engine was brand new when it was put in or if it was a donor engine. The 3.0's have problems with their head gaskets. Good luck.
