Dude, you totally misunderstood, I did not "highly doubted" your true statement. We both replied at the same time, yours was just 2 mins ahead of mine. Your quote was not on there when I hit the reply button, only after I had finished typing and after I hit the submit reply button. If I doubted your true statement, I would've QUOTED you. If that's true, I apologize. You referred to a battery bought in '99, and my '99 rig is in my sig. The OP had a 2000, which COULD have been bought in '99, but more likely 2000. I wish you had cleared this up sooner. I prefaced my first response with, "If you are talking about mine" and only NOW did you indicate you weren't. But I will accept primary responsibility for taking offense where none was meant. Hopefully we can now move on from this.

Yes, I quoted 99 because if his rig is a 2000, his vehicle may have been sitting in the showroom or dealer lot in late 1999, although as you mentioned it could have been in early 2000 also. Apology accepted. I looked back at the thread and was like...wtf...we're both idiots because we weren't even on the same page. O'well, you live and you learn, now we can drop this subject.

So is it possible to get a Panasonic battery from anywhere? My '99 battery lasted 7+ years and I bought a replacement from Toyota (like pictured in the 1st post) and it maybe made it a pathetic 3. My '02 is still on the original battery. I drive 15k a year and live where we can go weeks with the high temp being 0. Those Panasonic's are awesome.

Sadly, you would have to buy a new 4Runner and throw away the truck. I have never heard of a domestic source. And I looked back in 2006 when mine died.

My 99 4runner (139k miles)has a panasonic battery in it. Could that possibly be the original battery? If so, that is crazy to think a car battery could last that long.

Yeah, that would be some kind of record. Somebody must have swapped from another (newer) truck, maybe a wreck? because I just don't think there was any way to buy them.
