Is this what's next for the 4runner????

I heard they're discontinuing the Frontier as well. If Toyoa went unibody, I'd be willing to look. There are plenty of capable unibody SUVs. But, I would think it's much more cost-effective to base the 4runner on the tacoma/ prado.

I wonder what's behind Nissan's thought process? Although I feel Toyota puts a better product with the 4Runner/Tacoma I've always thought that Nissan had something at least somewhat comparible with the Pathfinder/Frontier (I had a 92 hardbody that served me well). But now Pathfinder going CUV, Frontier disappearing and Titan being on the market for what, 9 years now with virtually no updates (I wonder if one day they'll discontinue it all together also then)? Sounds like they're giving up on trucks altogether. Sad considering they had something half decent (though not enough to convince me to their camp).

One one hand I guess there's less direct competition so maybe bring more customers over to Toyota if vehicles like that truly appeal to them, but hopefully doesn't do the opposite and distract customers from this style and hurt future 4Runner chances.
