Is TRD PRO worth the cash?

If you have the money and really want a Pro, it's probably worth it. If you break it down to what you get for the money, no way.

I was shopping for a Pro and went with the Off Road Premium with KDSS and a moonroof. I didn't care about the exclusivity, only getting a great ride that would take me where I wanted to go.

Totally worth the price of admission for me. I think Pro represents a fantastic value, especially when compared to what other manufactures offer in the price range. Get a price to paint or wrap a vehicle and then tell me I'm not getting my moneys worth.....lol. Sure, you can add the bits that will make your rig a monster both on and off the road, but there's no guarantee you'll re-coup the money spent and hopefully the dealer still honors your warranty. At the end of the day, I didn't want to settle for a plain vanilla OR and the last time I checked, my Pro, will take me anywhere I want to go. :biggrin1:
 
Any feedback on 2019 Pro updates like the fox suspension or upgraded jbl sound system compared previous years.
To me it is worth the money because I will probably not modify. But I do not want to pay a penny over MSRP. I have been looking in California and Arizona and have been seeing 2-10k markups. May have to travel to find a MSRP deal.
 
Depends on you wants/needs. I bought an SR5 Prem and it is all the car I need and I saved a boatload over a TRD Pro. Resale is better with a Pro, but I dont plan on selling. My friends even joke it will be my last car I ever drive as I drove my last two cars for over 13 years. This one will last as long as gas is available. :pray:
 
they must be worth it - for all the soccer moms I see driving them :caked:

There are a couple on Facebook Marketplace, which are at DFW dealers, but I'm not sure which one. I bought mine at Sport City in late August. At that time, Family Toyota of Burleson had one incoming (dealer trade for me, but I got tired of waiting - check with salesman Raad, there). Freeman Toyota in Hurst may be able to get you one too.
 
Unique colors for the win. Not a single day goes by where I don't get a compliment, usually because he or she has not seen that color before. Mine is also bone stock. Resale value is indeed absurd.

In my humble opinion, based on resale value, and based on seeing several people put substantial effort into getting one, I'd say, YES, they are worth it, provided to don't modify it to an extreme.
 
Love my SW 16' TRD-P!

At the time, dealers in the Chi/NWI market were asking up to $5k over sticker. Found a dealer in the Chi burbs selling at MSRP, then gave me $2k off for tru car pricing through my work. Paid $41K.

Still wish I had a sunroof though. Been looking at the aftermarket ones.

Is the TRD PRO worth the cash? I say yes, if that's what you want. If you want a TRD PRO equivalent by getting a 'lesser' 4Runner and modding it, then that decision resides with you. If you're happy with the result, then yes. If your end goal is to end up with a TRD PRO's capabilities for less money, then I would suggest that having Toyota Motor Corporation back your un-modified purchase of a TRD PRO carries some value with it.

Enjoy what you drive if you can. If you're willing to accept responsibility for any drawbacks or failures of your mods, then modify to your heart's content. As for me, I no longer have the energy to pursue fights or chase repairs over such trivialities as mods. I like having the factory behind my purchase. If I buy a TRD PRO, then my waranties cover a TRD PRO.

Thanks called freeman they said they can't get an 18 but a 19 burleson might be able to. I won't go back to sport city they mark their prices high. i talked to a paige At family toyota I think her husband is a sales manager.
 
Ray Brandt Toyota shows to have two 2018 Pro's still in stock listed at MSRP, no markup.

There's a low mile, nicely modified Cavalry Blue Pro at RLB Sales and Leasing in Fort Worth. He's high on his "listed" prices, but he worked a decent deal with me some eight years back on a Roush. If nothing else, his vehicles are always clean and in showroom like condition, he doesn't sell junk.

Read my last comments on the Pelfreybilt thread, trust me I am not friends with them at all and spent weeks helping as many people recover their money as I could given I never worked for Pelfrey and I also paid for my gear from them and even lost money in that implosion. If anyone’s trolling it’s you, baby.
