There is however a small group of Pro haters in this community who continually show up in Pro related threads, just to leave an off-color comment or bash a Pro owner.....it's these idiots who are bringing the BS into peoples threads and I will offer an olive branch no more.. :cheers:

No vehicle is worth the cash. I agree on that, but it does appear the Pro is currently the King of Resale Value. Even a base 4Runner is great from a resale perspective!

Thanks called freeman they said they can't get an 18 but a 19 burleson might be able to. I won't go back to sport city they mark their prices high. i talked to a paige At family toyota I think her husband is a sales manager.

I got my TRD Pro for almost $1500 under sticker at Sport City (gasp!), so it might be worth a try.

Raad at Family Toyota was good to deal with, and I had a deposit down on an '18 Cavalry Blue with him, where they were doing a swap with another dealer who they were going to trade a '19 for. I was concerned about the timeframe of that deal after a while, and Sport City had one on the lot for a good price, so I bought from Kenny there.

I paid 44,500 plus TTL. Option-wise, it had tube steps, cargo tray, cargo cover, and rack cross bars.

I sold my old truck to a private party, and got top dollar for it. Dealer trade in offers were $4500 for an '06 Tacoma double cab TRD Prerunner with 198K on it. It was in awesome shape (I owned it since new), and I sold it for 10K two days after listing it.

It's a little more work to sell your previous vehicle, but we'll worth it in the end, since dealers won't typically get close to what it can be sold for. Some will mention the tax advantages of a trade in, but that's only 6.25% of the trade in value in TX.

Cars dot com only shows 10 '18 blue ones and 6 of them (was 7) at arapaho, and they don't list a price. They always had a lot of them and were the highest price ones when I was looking and were never interested in dealing when I contacted them. Sure they will hold their value. The ones I see here are never dirty, don't have any dings or scrapes which imply to me that they are not used off-roading, but rather mall crawlers.

The poster that claimed they got 10k is a great story and rare. Also, if you don't have the title transferred immediately you could get all kind of grief later. Tolls, tickets etc. are real concerns.

I was the original owner, and resale values on Tacomas is crazy. I got 10K because my truck was incredibly clean inside and out, and I sold it to a private party, instead of getting suckered by a dealer. I paid 23K for it 12 years ago, so I'm pretty happy with paying only ~1K/year for owning what was an awesome truck.

No doubt that is a really good looking truck, but I will sacrifice money any day to aviod dealing with the additional people.

That is really nice. I had a 92 single cab back in 2001 had like 60k miles on it bought it for 4,600. Gave it to my dad he had it till 07 and sold it for 4,300. We only lost money for maintenance and timing chain broke so had to replace that. i think why im not getting what my cars really worth is because they don't want to give me more then what the 4runner is selling for. So stupid but I mean my car is worth more it was a 81k car in 2016.

Do you want a mild factory lift and appearance package in an already capable 4WD platform and have no future plans on modding? If so, it's a good deal--unless you want to buy one of the limited edition colors, then it becomes a game of how much $$$ you want to pay for dealer markup.

My beef with the Pro is that it's a Trail/TRD Off Road that doesn't come with a sunroof or KDSS, despite costing MORE. The trick suspension can't be worth that much.

The 19s come with a sunroof and the dealership im dealing with doesn't do mark ups. I don't know much about off roading but it has to be like a sports car. Do you want a car that already has power etc so you pay more for it. Like a hellcat, GTR,zo6 and so on or do you just go cheaper and put your own stuff to make it just as fast/faster with less money? You defiantly won't be getting your money back on moding that cheaper car. Each to their own. If it wasn't for the color I may just go for a TRD ORP but I know down the road my color and pro will be rare and worth more. Far as the markups it sucks but way i look at it let the people be less smart and buy those because its whats keeping these trucks value. Unlike a vette those bastards have msrp at 82 right before the new year model they will drop it like 12k-15k off to sell it and there goes the value of these cars.

The Hellcat has a huge engine, the Pro doesn't.

Dealers often make a lot on trade ins, unless it is something that they can't resell on their pre-owned lot.

It didn't take a lot of work or time for me to sell my truck privately, and the extra 5.5K that I got for it was well worth it.

Clean up your ride, take some detailed pics of everything (including any flawed areas), and put all the pics/details in an ad on FB Marketplace, Craigslist, and online sites like Auto Trader.

Bill of sale and title transfer forms can be easily obtained online.
